Veterinarian
Dr. Adam McMahan grew up on a horse farm competing in rodeos in the tie-down and team roping events. He attended the University of Arkansas for his undergraduate studies. He then moved to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2016. He purchased Bayou South Animal Hospital in Lake Charles, LA in 2021 and Moss Bluff Animal Hospital in 2023. Dr. Adam’s primary interests in veterinary practice include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and dentistry. While not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin, their two children and their dogs Brie and Bentley. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and anything else outdoors!
Veterinarian
Dr. Courtney Fontenot is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2018 and is an alumna of McNeese State University where she earned her Bachelor’s in Agricultural Science. Dr. Fontenot is an associate veterinarian committed to practicing the best small animal medicine for her patients. Some of her many areas of focus include dentistry and pet nutrition. She believes client education is very important to provide pet owners with the tools they need to make the best choices for their pets’ health. She is a graduate of South Beauregard High School where she was very active in her community including softball and 4-H/FFA. She now resides in Moss Bluff with her husband Nick, two daughters, and fur baby Zoey. When not at work, you could find her catching the latest movie at the theater, crafting, or spending quality time with her family.
Veterinarian
Dr. Ferriss graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine class of 2021. After graduating, she spent three years practicing emergency medicine in South Carolina. Dr. Ferriss has a special interest in surgery, ophthalmology, and ultrasound. She also has a strong compassion for senior patients. When Dr. Ferriss is not working, she enjoys spending time on the water with her family and friends.
Practice Manager
Charlotte has worked in a veterinary office for 10 years. She has a strong love for helping and caring for animals. She has a 3-legged dog named Max, a 3 -legged cat name Treble and, an Australian Shepard name Virg. Charlotte lives in Ragley with her husband Ryan and their 3 children. In her off time, she loves cooking ang spending time with her friends and family or attending one of her kid’s activities. She is excited to be apart of the Moss Bluff Animal Hospital family.
Receptionist
Everyone calls me “Dessa”. I am originally from Crowley, Louisiana. I moved to the Moss Bluff area about 30 years ago. I have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. I have always wanted to work with animals, cats especially. I have worked at Moss Bluff Animal Hospital for 13 ½ years. My hobbies include spending as must time with family as possible. I also love the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Veterinary Assistant
My name is Ashlyn and I have been a veterinary assistant for over a year. I started at Bayou South in Lake Charles and I’m excited to be here at Moss Bluff Animal Hospital. I was born in DeRidder and have lived in Moss Bluff most of my life. Animals are my passion, and growing up I always knew I wanted to work with them. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my house full of pets!!
Veterinary Assistant
I was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana. I’m a mother of two children and a grandmother to one. I’ve lived in Moss Buff for 30 years. From an early age, I’ve had a love for animals, dogs especially. I have worked at Moss Bluff Animal Hospital for 19 years and I love what I do. I really wouldn’t want to do anything else. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family every chance I get.
